Building a stronger future while preserving what makes Glenrock home.
I’m running for Mayor because I believe Glenrock, Wyoming is a special place—and it deserves thoughtful, steady leadership to help it grow in the right way. We all appreciate the quiet, small-town feel, the sense of community, and the pride people take in living here. My goal is to protect those values while making sure our town is prepared for the future.
One of the biggest challenges we face is housing. Right now, there simply aren’t enough homes available to support growth or meet the needs of families already here. I believe Glenrock should be working toward building at least 20–25 new homes each year. That includes a mix of housing options—affordable homes for young families, as well as single-level homes that allow our seniors to stay in the community they helped build. Keeping generations rooted in Glenrock is important to maintaining the strength of our town.
We also need to continue growing our local economy. Bringing in new restaurants and small businesses will not only create jobs, but also give residents more options right here at home. A thriving downtown and business community makes Glenrock more attractive for visitors and future residents alike.
At the same time, we can’t forget about what we already have. Many of our buildings carry history and character that should be preserved. I support working with property owners and the community to upgrade and maintain these structures so they remain a part of Glenrock’s identity, while still being safe and functional.
Another priority is infrastructure. As we grow, our roads, utilities, and public services need to keep pace. Planning ahead and investing wisely will ensure we don’t fall behind and can support both current residents and future development.
I also believe strongly in listening. The people of Glenrock should have a voice in shaping its future. As Mayor, I would make it a priority to ask residents what they want to see—what’s working, what isn’t, and where we should focus our efforts. Good leadership starts with understanding the needs of the community.
A little about me—I spent 22 years working in the refining industry, where I learned the value of hard work, problem-solving, and accountability. Today, I stay active in the community and enjoy a variety of hobbies, including collecting old currency. I value the simple things—time with family, a strong community, and the quiet pace of small-town life.
Glenrock has a lot of potential. With the right leadership, we can grow responsibly, support our residents, and build a future we’re proud to pass on.
Lonnie for Glenrock — A practical approach to growth, community, and the future.
